Philip Meadowcroft Architects were the Architects for the recent AV upgrade of the Kohn Centre, working closely with the Royal Society’s facilities and AV teams, AV specialist Whitwam and Contractor Knight Harwood. A key challenge of the upgrade was the sensitive integration of the AV installation with the fabric of the interior, without harm to its architectural and historic significance.. A large LED video wall was installed in place of back projection , together with improved cameras and lighting for filming events and an improved sound system. Adaptations were made to the stage to better accommodate panel discussions and independent access was provided for technicians to the server racks behind the screen.
