The challenge of maximising space

on a restricted site within a Conservation Area has been met by constructing a new basement and carefully adjusting floor levels to gain an extra storey above ground. The new house and gallery provides a place to relax, entertain and showcase the business of the client - a rare book dealer. Materials, views and light have been designed to instil a connection to nature and recall the Norfolk landscape where the client grew up.
