Happy 40th Anniversary Price and Myers. Thanks for a great garden party in the wonderful setting of the College Garden - a space I never knew existed (it is thought to be the oldest garden in England). Very special. It’s been a privilege and a pleasure to work with you and long may that continue. #priceandmyers #westminsterabbey #collegegarden
Visit to site today. I quite like this stage where the building is raw and dusty but the spaces are beginning to take shape, occupied by piles, rolls and tubes which give a strange but also familiar sense of scale and light.
I attended my first event in the new RA lecture theatre - a lecture by Itsuko Hasegawa the first winner of the new Royal Academy Architecture Prize. Great to see some familiar faces too - Alan Stanton, Tony Fretton, Mohsen Mostafavi, Homa Farhjadi sitting on the front row and an introduction by the great Peter Cook.
These are images from a recent preview of works by architect and friend David Dernie based in Cambridge. David is an ex student of mine and we taught together for many years at University of Cambridge Diploma. I am delighted to have bought this piece which is 100cm x 100cm and abstract imaginary landscape painted using layers of fabric, paper, oilo and pigment. Its a stunning work. https://www.facebook.com/100016016259440/videos/280571935820013/
